Solo Jump - IAD Course
Learn to skydive on your own. Ground school followed by your first solo jump. Just $229.
Your Path to Solo Skydiving
Our IAD (Instructor Assisted Deployment) First Jump Course is the way to start your journey as a solo skydiver. Unlike a tandem where you ride along, IAD puts YOU in control — you jump alone (with an instructor deploying your parachute) from your very first jump.
IAD stands for Instructor Assisted Deployment. This means your instructor rides with you in the plane and releases your pilot chute as you exit. The pilot chute opens your container, deploying your main parachute. You then fly the canopy yourself back to the drop zone.
It's an incredible feeling — from the moment you step out of the plane to the moment your feet touch the ground, you are flying on your own. Most students are hooked after their very first jump.

Course Structure
A weekend that could change your life.
Ground School
Evening before your jump (~4 hours)
Your course begins at the drop zone the evening before your scheduled jump day. Plan to arrive a few minutes early.
Over approximately 4 hours, our certified instructors will teach you everything you need to know:
- Equipment familiarization
- Aircraft exit procedures
- Body position and stability
- Canopy control and navigation
- Landing techniques
- Emergency procedures
Jump Day!
The following morning at the drop zone
Head to Moose Jaw Municipal Airport the next morning. The day's schedule depends on weather and the number of students.
Your first jump will be from 3,500 feet. As you progress through subsequent jumps, you'll advance to higher altitudes up to 10,500 feet.
Plan for an all-day adventure. We encourage you to do more than one jump if you're up for it — most students find the second and third jumps even more enjoyable because the fear of the unknown is gone and they can truly enjoy the canopy time.
Additional student jumps: $99 + tax
Second jump special: $50 + tax
After Your First Jump
Keep Jumping
Additional student jumps are just $99 + tax. Arrange them in-person at the DZ or by phone. Most students jump multiple times on their first day.
Progress to PFF
Exceptional students may be invited to our Progressive Freefall program — 9 levels of advanced training from 10,500 feet.
Join the Club
Your FJC includes club and SPAS membership. Come back on weekends, camp overnight, and become part of the SSS family.
